SSE Renewables -

Delivering Net Zero

SSE Renewables is playing a key role in helping ensure that Scotland’s world-leading climate change legislation targets are delivered on time. Berwick Bank Wind Farm will play a key role in delivering net zero for Scotland.

In October 2020, the Scottish Government issued a Policy Statement indicating it believes that “11GWs of installed Offshore Wind capacity is possible by 2030”.

The current Scottish Offshore Wind Pipeline, which includes proposals in the planning stage, through to proposals already operational, currently sits at 10.2GWs. This figure includes Berwick Bank, which can account for 4.1GW of this total.

SSE Renewables are proud to have a world leading portfolio of renewable opportunities, this includes the largest offshore wind development pipeline in the UK and Ireland at over 6GW, Berwick Bank is a crucial component of this portfolio.

The climate emergency we all face must be addressed and acted on now. Berwick Bank is one of the largest offshore wind opportunities in the world, it is deliverable now and it is essential if Scotland is to be successful in meeting 2030 decarbonization targets and delivering Net Zero.
