Championing inclusion and celebrating women tackling the climate crisis

SSE Renewables is celebrating the highly skilled and motivated women working across different roles in renewables this International Women’s Day.

The theme this year is Inspire Inclusion. Everyone will eventually have access to green, clean energy, and through this process we are committed to supporting inclusion across our talent to develop pioneering renewable energy projects like Berwick Bank Wind Farm.

We want to shine a light on our female colleagues currently working within the Berwick Bank team. Four of our colleagues have each given us an insight into what it means to be a woman working on a world-leading renewable energy project that will help Scotland meet its net zero targets.

Kerrie Craig, Ellen Aitken, Ciara Jamieson and Mae Aldridge each bring essential skills to the project that are playing a pivotal role in developing the world’s biggest proposed offshore wind farm, located in the outer Firth of Forth. They tell us why Berwick Bank is so important in tackling the climate emergency and what their involvement in the project personally means to them.

With continued investment in inclusivity, we can inspire, attract and retain remarkable talent to secure a green energy future for Scotland.

Click through the quotes above to hear from Kerrie, Ellen, Ciara and Mae.
